Myndgard Share
Myndgard Share is a mental-health support service for university counselling services: students in counselling check in and complete short questionnaires such as PHQ-9 and GAD-7 in the Myndgard app, and with their consent their counsellor sees how they are doing in a web portal between sessions.
- Who it is for
- Students aged 18 and over in counselling at a university or college counselling service, and the counsellors and clinicians who support them. Students know the app simply as Myndgard.
- What students do
- Record their mood and complete validated questionnaires such as PHQ-9 and GAD-7, log movement and take time for mindfulness. Syncing steps, workouts and sleep from Apple Health on iPhone is optional and off unless the student turns it on.
- What counsellors see
- With the student's consent, their assigned clinicians see check-ins, scores and trends in a web portal between sessions. Answers that indicate risk, such as thoughts of self-harm, alert the assigned clinician so a person can follow up.
- Access
- By invitation from the university counselling service. For students aged 18 and over.
- Platforms
- The Myndgard app for iPhone and Android; the clinician portal in any modern web browser.
- Data
- Hosted in the EU, in Ireland. Encrypted in transit; clinical content is also encrypted in the database with separately managed keys.
- AI
- No AI or large language models are used to process personal data. Questionnaires are scored using their published scoring rules.
- Advertising
- No advertising or tracking in the app or portal, and student data is never sold.
- Safety
- Not an emergency service. Questionnaire scores are screening measures, not a diagnosis.

Myndgard Discover
Myndgard Discover is a short daily programme on understanding emotions for university students on the counselling waitlist: students sign up with their college email and start straight away, and the university sees only anonymous, cohort-level figures.
- Who it is for
- University and college students on the counselling waitlist, waiting for their first appointment.
- What students do
- Each day: a few short reading modules (most also available as audio), an optional check-in and a practical exercise, with short quizzes along the way. The programme is self-paced; the next day opens once the current one is finished.
- Access
- Students sign up themselves with their college email, if their university offers Discover.
- What the university sees
- Only anonymous, cohort-level figures: how many students have registered and how far, on average, the group has progressed. Never who has joined, what anyone writes, or individual progress.
- Data
- Stored on Amazon Web Services; check-ins, reflections and exercise responses are encrypted in the database, and each university's data is kept separate. No advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking in the app.
- Nature of the programme
- Educational. It does not diagnose or treat any condition and is not a substitute for professional care or for the counselling service. Not an emergency service.
